This year one-act play is basically about a play within a play. A cast is rehearsing for tomorrow night opening, while having to put up with their director Barbara. She is probably the worst director you can work with. During the play, two officers from OSHA came down to close down the theater because it is not "emotionally" safe. Barbara's assistant, Ellen, tried to convince them that Barbara would be a nicer director in order to save the play. Barbara basically went crazy from trying to work with a cast that would not get anything done right. Ellen then tricked the OSHA to leave and the play was saved. Barbara then learned her lesson and the cast learned their lessons as well. The show must go on!

This year one-act worked very hard, especially because the script arrived very late. During homeroom, the cast would go over their lines without acting to memorize their lines faster. They would also have practice every Thursday night from 7:00 pm-9:00pm, even making sacrifices such as skipping the Celebration of Lights! When conference was getting near, we would have practice every night after school for 2 hours or longer if needed. At conference we scored one superior and one excellent. After conference we looked at the errors that we made, and tried to perfect them. The whole cast worked as a team in making this play the best it could be! We took the judges' advice and worked harder for districts. To prepare ourselves for districts we had practice every night for 2 hours or more if needed, and we also practiced over the weekend. We were determined to win districts! At districts, we performed well, but made a few mistakes that could have been avoided. Our cast memorized their lines very well, no lines were dropped. The only error we really made was that our background cast could have been more in character. Overall, we did very well, better than conference. We scored two superiors and one excellent. Kelsey Swanson got an award for best actress! Very nicely done, Kelsey!

As a crew and cast, we learned to work together, and not to get on each others' nerves. We learned the importance of communication and team work. This year one-act was a very interesting experience. This was many people's first year of one-act, and they said they enjoyed it greatly, learned many new things from each other. Everyone bonded closer together.

Thank you to the cast and crew who made this production possible. Especially the directors Mrs. King and Mrs. Genung who are our wonderful inspirations and role models! This year was a SUPERIOR year!
