Tech Plan Goals

#1 Systems Management

I. Technology Support

  • Helpdesk requests for this month: AR login difficulties, Golf Meet needs, Room 208 Computer.
  • Tracy, Vicki, Carol, and Marie attended the NETA Conference in Lincoln April 25 and 26th, 2003.

II. Technology Integration

III. Information Management:

  • Tech Plan – done with revisions until next year other than Part V. Tracy will do an informal evaluation between now and the end of the year. Carol and Tracy will meet this summer to discuss a formal evaluation for STM and STC.
  • Joe LeDuc is ready to schedule a meeting to see where we are and where to head next. Tracy emailed Joe with two possible dates: Wednesday, May 21st in the morning or Thursday, May 22nd in the morning.
  • Wireless Security – Tracy will continue to ask for assistance from the diocese, and discuss this at the scheduled meeting.
  • Media Center Automation – report: Auto Librarian has arrived and has been installed. Now we must find time to configure and enter in books and students. Tracy, Vicki, and Kathy Carlin will continue to meet for continued progress. We will as Sr. Francesca and Sr. Maria Regina for assistance as they have experience in doing this before.
  • Info Management To do list:
    Exchange Server (scheduled for June)
    Implement the K-12 planet module for Win School
    Mac School to Win School History transfer and Next Year Prep.

#2 Curriculum Development

  • Tech Prep
    • 2002-2003 Goal: Coordinate with other teachers (if interested) to see if any other classes qualify for Tech Prep credit. Kay Theer -- articulated! Advanced Foods students may receive 2 credits, provided that they have taken Freshman Foods.
    • Tech Prep will be collecting names of students who have complete an A or B in articulated classes and creating awards for awards night.
  • K-12 Curriculum: Carol and Tracy will meet this summer to discuss the K-12 Curriculum further.
  • Vicki and Tracy are registered for a one day workshop during the Invest Conference, June 2-5, to complete Curriculum Scope and Sequence in June. This was paid for by Tech Prep.

#3 Hardware and Software

  • STC Media -- only one glitch left. Our CD burner will not work with the Apple software, so we must purchase the program Toast for it to work on our Macs. Tracy will complete a PO.
  • Machines – Mac Lab to become a Windows Lab Discussion. This will be discussed at the meeting with Joe LeDuc. We will need a projector for this classroom.
  • Library Lab Discussion - Vicki will create the floor plans for the Library Lab and get them to Greg Sinner. A projector would be beneficial in this lab as well. Marie will contact Bill about whether the school plans show what might be under the stage in the Library.
  • Need 2 more switches or fast hubs – Talked with Joe LeDuc at NETA, and he is supportive of ordering some for us -- will discuss further at the scheduled meeting.
  • DVD Drive – Tracy will request an External DVD Drive. Some software is coming on DVD-ROM and I can’t install!! Tracy will complete a PO.
  • Scanners - would like to request 1-2 more scanners. One for the teacher's lounge. One more, possibly for the new Multimedia Publications Classes.
  • Router – report: Needed reset on two occasions in the last month. Carol will call Dan at Alltel about installing filters on the fax line.
  • To do:
    Configure Windows XP to auto update—Tracy will email Carol with directions.
    Finish any RAM installs
    PC to AD office – donation computer
    Music needs: They received new software and keyboard and need help configuring it. This is still on the to-do list – time to do this also.
    Plan for updating and replacing computers

#4 Financial Facilitation

Diocese Donor Discussion

Fundraising –

Recycled Cell phone fundraiser – report – we have 12+ eligible phones. What to do with the rest (another dozen+)? We will sell the rest at the next bazaar as “attic treasures.”

Valentine’s Day Computer Matching – report: We made $172.94 for the Technology Club.

To-do: grants/loans through Hastings College and through the NE Catalyst Program, and through Enhanced Ed through Technology.
