Blue

2006-2007

BLUE is a prestigious fundraiser for Hastings Catholic Schools. It is Hastings Catholic Schools' biggest fundraiser providing significant financial support for our schools. It was founded in 1991 by Monsignor John Mccabe with the help of Dr. and Mrs. Donovan Foote, Dr. and Mrs. Bill Hervert, Mr. and Mrs. Les Lawless, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Petr. It is normally held in the month of April on a Saturday evening. BLUE is held in St. Cecilia's west gymnasium. On the Friday before the banquet there is a preview night where you may view the many items that will be auctioned off. Tickets are sold before the banquet, with each ticket you also receive dinner and a seat at one of the many tables. There are many items on the silent auction and there is also a live auction. There is usually entertainment as well. In past years, profits from BLUE go toward things such as new computer tables and chairs, the school endowment fund, teachers' salaries, creating a new classroom, and other school improvement projects. Every year is unique with a new set of co-chairs. The co-chairs create a theme for BLUE each year. There have been many different themes over the years. Many members of the school and church community contribute to making the event a success. The evening is enjoyable as well as profitable.

BLUE 2007 will be BLUE's seventeenth year in action. This year's co-chairs include Dr. and Mrs. Paul Rodriguez, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Nathan, and Mr. and Mrs. Scott Kirkegaard. It will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007. If you are interested in helping this year please contact Hastings Catholic Schools or any of the co-chairs.
