ST. MICHAEL'S ELEMENTARY

BOYS GRADES K - 5

PANTS: Navy blue or khaki dress pants only. Belts must be worn if the pants come with belt loops, four or fewer pockets, no pockets on the lower thigh or leg. Shorts must be navy blue or khaki and of the Walking Shorts style. The shorts length must be at least to the top of the knee. No look-alike jeans. Shorts may be worn from May 1 to September 30.

SHIRTS: Light blue or white oxford cloth, button-down collar. White polo shirts; and/or light blue polo; or white turtlenecks. All shirts must be solid in color, have a collar, and be tucked in at all times. Shirts can be long or short sleeved. Polos must be free of any company insignia (e.g. alligator, fox, O.P.), only the Hastings Catholic School insignia is acceptable, and can be purchased on polos ordered from the LandsEnd catalog. LandsEnd SCRIP gift certificates available anywhere SCRIP is sold.

SOCKS: Socks must be worn at all times. Socks are to be white or navy blue in color. Socks are to be visible above the tops of the shoes.

SWEATERS: Only navy blue sweaters are permitted. They can be in crew-neck, V-neck, or Cardigan style. Shirts must be worn under sweaters.

SWEATSHIRT: The navy blue sweatshirt must be ordered and purchased from St. Michael's School. This is the only one that will be allowed as part of the uniform. A shirt with a collar must be worn under the uniform sweatshirt.

SHOES: Casual shoes or tennis shoes in good condition and safe for P.E. and recess. Please be sure that the soles are Non-Marking. No boots, heavy-duty shoe boot or slick soles dress shoes. Sandals, clogs, and backless shoes are NOT part of the school wear, even when the students have out-of-uniform days.

GIRLS GRADES K - 5

SKIRTS & JUMPERS: Skirts and jumpers are navy blue or blue/gray plaid. These must be purchased from Dennis Uniform Company. All hems must reach at least the top of the KNEE. Shorts are to be worn under skirts and jumpers. Shorts are Not to show below the hem of the skirt or jumper.
BLOUSES: Light blue or white oxford cloth, button-down collar; white polo shirts and light blue polo shirts; or white turtlenecks. All shirts/blouses must be solid in color, have a collar, and be tucked in at all times. Shirts/Blouses can be long or short sleeved. Polos must be free of any company insignia (e.g. alligator, fox, O.P.), only the Hastings Catholic Schools insignia is acceptable and can be ordered on all polos ordered from the LandsEnd Catalog. LandsEnd SCRIP gift certificates available anywhere SCRIP is sold.

SLACKS: Navy blue or khaki dress slacks only. Material must be a cotton/twill or polyester of some combination. Belts must be worn if pants come with belt loops. No patch pockets, look alike jeans, wind or nylon pants with drawstrings, etc., no stretch pants, no cargo pants.

SHORTS: Navy blue or khaki shorts only . No cargo shorts Must be walking short length. Belts must be worn if the shorts have loops. Shorts may be worn May 1 through September 30th.

IN GENERAL: 1. If your child wears a T-shirt under his/her blouse, shirt or polo, the T-shirt must be PLAIN white.
2. If a girl wishes to wear earrings, they may be ONLY BUTTON type or loop earrings no larger than 1/2 inch in diameter may be worn. NO dangling earrings.
3. Boys' hair can be no longer than the top of the shirt collar and must be off of the ears.
4. Boys are not allowed to wear earrings.
5. Skirts and jumpers are to be ordered and purchased only through Dennis Uniform Co.
6. White and light blue button down collar oxford shirts, white and light blue polo shirts, white turtleneck shirts, navy and khaki pants and navy blue walking shorts, will also be available to order and purchase through Dennis Uniform Co., but may be purchased elsewhere.
7. On all pants and slacks, insignias are to be no lower than the top of the back pockets, and not permitted elsewhere on pants.

BOYS GRADES 6-8

SHORTS: Navy blue and khaki shorts only. *Belts* must be worn if the shorts have loops. Must be walking short length. No cargo shorts. Shorts may be worn May 1 through September 30th.

2. Grooming: Hair length can be no longer than the top of the shirt collar and must be off the ears, no bright coloring, no carved hairdos. No earrings are allowed during school or whenever a student represents STC which includes attendance at any school function. Coats are not to be worn in school.

GIRLS GRADES 6-8

1. On designated dress-up days, girls in grades 6-8 will be required to wear the plaid skirt, a white oxford cloth button down collar blouse, with white socks that cover the ankle. All Middle School girls will need to make sure these items are part of their wardrobe.
2. Coats are not to be worn in school.
3. No hosiery will be allowed.
4. Wearing of makeup by middle school girls is not encouraged. Cosmetics should not be brought to school; this includes nail polish, lipstick, etc.

BOYS GRADES 9-12

GENERAL: 1. On designated dressÐup days at STC, boys will be required to wear navy blue slacks a white oxford cloth, button down collar shirt, and a *navy tie*. All 9-12 boys will want to make sure these items are part of their wardrobe.

2. Grooming: *Boys must be clean shaven*. No mustaches or beards. Hair length can be no longer than the top of the shirt collar and must be off the ears, no bright coloring, no carvedhairdos. No earrings are allowed during school or whenever a student represents STC which includes attendance at any school function. Coats are not to be worn in school.

GIRLS GRADES 9-12

Blouses can be long or short sleeved. Polos must be free of any company insignia (i.e. alligator, fox, O.P.). Only the Hastings Catholic School insignia is acceptable. Turtlenecks are not to be worn alone. A sweatshirt or oxford shirt must be worn over them. *Plain* white unprinted TÐshirts may be worn under shirts.

SHOES: Dress shoes, school shoes or dress sandals (NO athletic footwear of any kind of material will be allowed, including platform sneakers, athletic slides, beach wear sandals, or shower sandals.)
